The concept of touch sensitivity gave birth to a new era of smart devices having so-called touch screens. These devices did not require any buttons to be pressed, therefore, buttons were totally eliminated. The device had only a large touch sensitive screen similar to its own size.
Since then, touch screen devices have evolved in multiple ways and have found applications in various fields. One latest example is the multi user whiteboard. This device can also be used in hospitals and medical centers. With a lot of patients coming in, saving time and improving productivity is vital. All the details of the patients are to be entered into a table or chart and recorded. If one person does this it may take an hour for him to do it. But with the help of multi user whiteboard, multiple people from the staff can fill the different columns of the chart at the same time. As the screen is large enough three to four members can easily work on the same device.
Also, in workplaces, employees can drag and move multiple items/files from one place to another quickly and easily. For the new employees/visitors entering the building, a multi user whiteboard can be installed at the reception showing the overview of the whole building. This will help the user to navigate his way through the building. If one person is using the device, the others don't need to stand and wait for their turn, they can also use it simultaneously.
The functionalities a multi user whiteboard provides have made the single touch devices obsolete. Apart from the benefits, it also saves time and improves productivity. As a result, the organizations using the single touch devices are replacing them with multi-touch counterparts.
